PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Global Principal Data Analyst serves as Avolta's strategic analytics lead, transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive commercial performance, business growth, and enterprise value. Partnering with senior leaders across Commercial, Finance, Strategy, Technology, and Data Science, this role shapes Avolta's analytics strategy by identifying strategic opportunities, defining global performance frameworks, and enabling critical business decisions through advanced analytics and data-driven recommendations.
The Principal Data Analyst is accountable for translating data into measurable business outcomes across global markets while advancing analytical best practices and fostering a data-driven culture. As a highly visible individual contributor, the role combines deep analytical expertise with commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and stakeholder influence to drive meaningful impact across Avolta's global operations. The role reports to the Global Strategy Senior Manager and can be based in Madrid, Spain or Milan, Italy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Strategy & Performance Management: Own and evolve global KPI frameworks, performance measurement standards, and analytical methodologies across regions and business units
Data Strategy & Performance Management: Establish best practices for analytics, reporting, and insight generation across functions and regions
Data Strategy & Performance Management: Promote data quality, governance, consistency, and transparency across key business data assets
Data Strategy & Performance Management: Support the evolution of Avolta's analytics, AI, and decision intelligence capabilities
Strategic Analytics & Business Impact: Shape and drive the analytics agenda supporting Avolta's key strategic and commercial priorities
Strategic Analytics & Business Impact: Partner with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities, performance improvement initiatives, and business risks
Strategic Analytics & Business Impact: Deliver data-driven recommendations that influence commercial strategy, investment decisions, and operational priorities
Strategic Analytics & Business Impact: Lead complex analytical projects and translate findings into clear business actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Commercial, Finance, Strategy, BI, Data Science, Product, and Technology teams to deliver high-impact business outcomes
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bridge technical and business teams, ensuring analytical solutions address strategic business needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Prioritize analytics initiatives based on business value, scalability, and organizational impact
Thought Leadership & Capability Building: Act as a recognized subject matter expert in analytics, performance optimization, and data-driven decision-making
Thought Leadership & Capability Building: Mentor analysts and champion analytical best practices across the organization.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
8+ years' experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Commercial Strategy, Consulting, Revenue Management, or related fields
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline
Demonstrated ability to influence strategic business decisions through data and analytics
Strong commercial understanding of revenue, profitability, pricing, forecasting, customer, or operational performance drivers
Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python
Experience with modern analytics ecosystems (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
Knowledge of statistical analysis, experimentation, predictive analytics, and machine learning concepts
Experience working with large, complex, and multi-source datasets
Advanced dashboarding and data visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
Strong executive communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority
Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and analytical depth
Experience within retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, travel retail, hospitality, or similarly data-rich environments preferred
