p Hill International is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support the expansion of a major offshore oil and gas complex in Libya.
The project will be managed from Milan and the successful candidate will be required to have the right to work in Italy.
/pp As the Planning Engineer on this project, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure timely execution of all phases — from engineering to procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover.
You will support the Project Manager and Project Service Manager by providing schedule forecasts, progress updates, and delay analysis, enabling proactive project management.
/pp Role and Responsibilities /pp Schedule Development Baseline Preparation /pulli Develop the Project Master Schedule in line with the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
/lili Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and activity coding in coordination with project disciplines.
/lili Define critical path activities and key project milestones.
/lili Ensure alignment of the schedule with cost control, procurement, and engineering deliverables.
/li /ulp Progress Monitoring Control /pulli Monitor actual progress versus the baseline schedule.
/lili Update schedules periodically (weekly/monthly) with real progress data.
/lili Identify schedule deviations and propose recovery/mitigation plans.
/lili Maintain progress curves (S-curves) and manpower histograms.
/li /ulp Coordination with Project Teams /pulli Liaise with engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and offshore teams to collect progress data.
/lili Integrate subcontractor schedules into the overall project schedule.
/lili Ensure offshore and onshore execution schedules are aligned for critical interfaces.
/li /ulp Reporting Analysis /pulli Prepare weekly/monthly schedule reports for management and the client.
/lili Present updated Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis.
/lili Highlight potential delays and recommend corrective actions.
/lili Produce "look-ahead" schedules for short-term planning.
/li /ulp Delay Change Management /pulli Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders and variations.
/lili Support claims preparation with time impact analysis (TIA).
/lili Maintain records for extension-of-time (EOT) submission /li /ulp Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: /pulli Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
/lili Work experience of ten (10) years after earning the BSc degree.
/lili Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in total, with at least the last 3–5 years spent on offshore projects.
/lili Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write reports.
/lili Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
/lili Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
/lili Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
/lili High attention to detail in schedule preparation and reporting.
/lili Proactive in identifying and mitigating risks to the schedule.
