The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and the ability to understand the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. The Senior Manager Construction (OnsCon) manages multiple related teams, sets their organizational priorities, and allocates the appropriate resources. They will be required to manage and coordinate multiple contractors operating within their area of responsibility They must be able to identify and resolve a range of complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. The Senior Manager Construction (OnsCon) directly impacts business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and/or technologies, and developing policies and plans. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 pbKey Task and Responsibilities: /b /p ul liLead the team to deliver a successful project /li liResponsible for planning and execution of the construction plan at the job site including all construction activities and changes to the plan as required and to meet schedule and cost goals of the project /li liResponsible for formulating a competent construction execution plan /li liResponsible for safety, quality, client interface, construction operations, cost, and schedule, which includes the major risk component – labor productivity /li liTakes the lead as front-line business manager /li liActively participate in the development of a construction HSSE culture that makes safety and environmental awareness a natural part of the job /li liImplement the Mobilization /li liProvide constructability input during design /li liDevelop a construction organizational plan commensurate with the requirements of the Project Documents and sells the Project Execution Plan to Management /li liVisit sites for pending projects and evaluate site conditions and extraordinary requirements /li liEnsure each direct report has a full understanding of the Project Execution Plan and other information pertinent to construction execution, /li liAccountable for the functional direction, coordination, and performance of all on-site construction operations and support departments including field management, quality, safety, material management, procurement, construction engineering, human resources, business services, industrial relations, and facility turnover /li liMaintain plan alignment by continuously assessing the evolving project and updating the Plan, and communicating and reinforcing construction requirements within the project team /li liCoordinate and interface with others as required to execute the construction plan and assure that labor, equipment, and materials are available to support the construction effort /li liAssure that construction work is performed within the budget and schedule constraints of the project /li liAssure accuracy of field estimates and schedules /li liResolve problems Assures construction procedures are implemented /li liControl change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented, and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work /li liReview the contractual commitments of contractors including cost, quality, and schedule and verify their field activities /li liMonitor and control cost, schedule, progress, and productivity including analyzing deviations and taking action to correct negative trends /li liAnalyze site business interruption risks /li liAdvise management of developments that could affect project profit, schedule, costs, client relations, and interdepartmental or inter-divisional relations /li liProvide the approval and implementation of the Construction Quality Management Plan /li liDevelop the project schedule with the project team /li liApprove and release to the appropriate personnel, change orders resulting from requests for extra work by the client or in-house requests,
whenever such work is not included in the original contracted budget and scope of work /li liMaintain a chronological record of the project history by having the minutes of meetings and telephone conversations written /li liConfirm in writing all significant instructions given to the project team or received from Client /li liManage weekly project status and safety meetings /li liDevelop an atmosphere of open and honest communication between MDR and Owner, with the goal of excellence in customer relationships /li liOwn and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures /li liEnsure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures /li liEnsure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 pbEssential Qualifications and Education: /b /p ul liBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent on-the-job experience /li liMinimum of 15-20 years of experience in industrial construction projects with knowledge of Construction Planning /li liPrior experience on a construction site, involved with work planning activities including a high level of knowledge and experience with the implementation of detailed work planning processes and procedures /li liKnowledge of AWP as a project management methodology and familiarity with all phases of a project lifecycle /li liStrong communication and presentation skills, ability to convey complex concepts /li liAdvanced MS Office skills, specifically with Excel and Access /li liImplementation and Management of MDR procedures and standards /li liExperience in leadership positions and ability to influence others at a professional level /li liAdvanced understanding of construction sequencing and construction techniques /li liExcellent attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines, troubleshoot, and resolve issues /li liEnergetic with a positive and enthusiastic disposition, possessing a can-do attitude /li liRespected for uncompromising integrity, work ethic, and professionalism /li liUnderstand organizational structures for all roles that coincide with WorkFace Planning /li liShould clearly understand contract requirements /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
