Software Engineer III at Arcfield About the role Arcfield is looking for a mid-level software engineer to join our Research and Development Team within the Cross-Domain Solutions Group. This team is focused on advancing a leading cross-domain guarding solution utilized by government and military facilities across the globe. The ability to share data across different security domains is essential for maintaining our nation's information superiority. Our cross-domain guarding solution ensures data integrity, protects against unauthorized access and cyber threats, and aids in the human review process of transferred data. The selected candidate will be responsible for researching and developing moderately complex software code that comprises our cross-domain solution and its feature-enhancing components. Responsibilities will include analyzing and prototyping new features to meet security and enterprise requirements, as well as contributing to baseline development. Collaboration will be key, as you will work closely with team members, a production team operating under Scrum methodologies, and field engineers to achieve the group's objectives. Your experience and skills will also serve to enhance the capabilities of the entire Research and Development Team.

What you'll do Engage in research related to the design, development, testing, and application of electronic data processing software.
Create, document, test, and debug application software and systems that involve logical and mathematical solutions.
Collaborate with hardware engineers and equipment designers to plan, develop, and utilize electronic data processing systems for both product and commercial software.
Assess user requirements and system capabilities to troubleshoot issues related to program intent,



output needs, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; prepare operational instructions; and design compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Ensure compliance with software standards while analyzing user needs and software requirements to evaluate the feasibility of designs within specified time and budget constraints.
Work alongside systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and gather information about project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to forecast and measure design outcomes and implications.
Oversee software system installations and monitor equipment performance to ensure adherence to specifications.
Operate with a comprehensive understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in your field.
Work independently under general guidance to provide technical solutions to a variety of complex problems.
Determine and develop approaches to solutions independently.
Requirements A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 5-7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience, or a PhD with 0-2 years of experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.




Proficiency in developing solutions using programming languages and technologies such as Java, C++/C, Python, Venom, Go, Linux containers, Kubernetes, and Helm Charts.
Experience in design and implementation using object-oriented principles and patterns.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with the complete software engineering lifecycle.
Competence in documenting and capturing software design and functionality.
Desired A Secret security clearance.
Experience with Scrum methodologies and Test-driven Development practices.
Skills in building solutions using virtual machines, cloud environments, databases, specialized hardware, and collaborative or federated technologies.
Experience in developing video or data streaming applications.
Knowledge of securing operating systems.
Familiarity with cross-domain guard technology.
Understanding of public-key cryptography.
Experience in developing applications for the Microsoft Windows environment.
Equal Pay Act The anticipated salary range for this position is between $92,978.75 and $161,672.00. Various factors can influence the final salary, including contract wage determinations, relevant work experience, skills that align with the role, geographic location (for remote opportunities), education, and certifications.
