Software Engineer III, Backend at satispay About the role satispay is building a financial platform that helps 6 million users manage their money. This role focuses on backend services for savings and investment products. You will contribute to a platform that empowers users to pay, save, and invest.
Key facts Location: Milan, Italy
Engagement: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days in-office: Tuesday, Thursday, plus one flexible day)
Compensation: €38,000 - €46,000 gross per annum (negotiable based on experience)
Team: Consumer Wealth Domain
What you'll do Design, build, test, and operate backend services for savings and investment products using Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.
Develop and maintain core functionalities such as the "Invested Money Box," automated savings goals, and investment portfolios, ensuring high reliability.
Manage AWS-based infrastructure (EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, Kinesis) and improve architectural designs for wealth-related microservices.
Utilize AI tools for code optimization, root cause analysis, and documentation.
Translate financial requirements into scalable technical solutions, balancing delivery speed with precision.
Collaborate with Product and UX teams, contributing to code reviews, post-mortems, and refactoring to promote best practices.
Debug complex issues, investigate production incidents,



and share insights to improve system health.
Requirements At least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer in fast-paced environments.
Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable microservices.
Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
Familiarity with cloud environments and relational databases.
Deep understanding of performance, data integrity, and transactional consistency in financial systems.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
Fluent in English.
Interest in FinTech, wealth management, or startup environments.
Nice to have Experience with AWS.
