This position works closely and continuously with others from research development, field service, technical writing, sales, and manufacturing engineering to maximize customers’ satisfaction with Vertiv’s products and implement ongoing design changes. /p h3What kind of work will you be doing? /h3 ul liDesign owner for large commercial battery backup systems using lithium-ion or other battery chemistry. /li liInvent, prototype, test and implement design changes to prevent recurrence of a problem, pursue cost-out opportunities, or add value to a product. /li liCreate or revise technical documentation for a product. /li liAssist with troubleshooting by investigating emergent problems at customer sites or in local factories. Regional travel to a customer site (typically a datacenter) is typically required every 4-6 months. /li liAssist with creating user manuals for new Vertiv products being launched. /li liOccasionally interact with customers directly, either in support of quoting/sales or in response to problems. /li liOccasionally operate test equipment up to 700V and 1.6MW in support of the activities above.
/li liOccasionally design, build, and modify simple test equipment. /li liPerform other related duties and projects as assigned. /li /ul h3What will make you successful? /h3 pMinimum Job Qualifications: /p ul liUniversity degree or technical diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. /li li2+ years of experience in an Electrical Engineer role. /li liCustomer oriented and available to travel. /li liGood English language knowledge. /li liMust have good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills. /li liMust be team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced work environment. /li liMust be able to lead and coordinate project tasks with other engineering teams globally. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications: /h3 ul liExperience in any of the following areas is desirable: ul liAnalog or high-voltage circuit design /li liIndustrial equipment design /li liCommercial or industrial power infrastructure /li liUninterruptible power supplies /li liSensor microprocessor integration /li liLithium-ion battery management systems /li /ul /li liExperience certifying one or more products with a listing agency such as UL or CSA /li liKnowledge of NEC or NFPA 855 is desirable but not required. /li liExperience using 2-dimensional CAD is desirable but not required. /li /ul pThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities. /p h3OUR CORE PRINCIPALS /h3 pSafety.
