Junior System EngineerHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Junior System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks within our Rolling Stock Engineering Department. The position is based in Pistoia or Napoli - IT.AccountabilitiesPrepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS)Define and manage system interfaces (both internal and external) throughout the entire project lifecycleAnalyze and assess technical documentation from SuppliersPrepare and verify system installation/integration drawings/specificationsConduct design reviews (both internal and with suppliers) for the assigned onboard systems, under the supervision of relevant Engineering Managers and Project EngineersPrepare Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), as well as Functional Test Specifications (FTS) (including performance tests) for the assigned onboard systemsAttend at system stand‑alone type test and review of type test reportsSupport onboard integration, performance testing and validation phasesReview design documentation with customers and suppliersEnsure compliance with input requirements, international railway regulations and standards and project constraints (time, cost, quality)Prepare the documentation required for vehicle approval and support the homologation phaseRequired Skills / KnowledgeBasic knowledge of system engineering and requirements management disciplinesBasic knowledge of design verification and validation methodologiesBasic knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering disciplinesGood knowledge of office automation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced,



international and multicultural environmentGood organizational skills, alongside team‑working, problem‑solving and results‑driven mindsetAbility to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers, partners, customers)Ability to work within project teams under minimal supervisionAvailability for occasional short‑term national and international business tripsDesired Skills / KnowledgeMinimum experience (1‑2 years) in the Railway sector or in complex industrial environmentsBasic knowledge of the main railway regulations and standardsBasic knowledge of IBM DOORS requirements management tool Basic knowledge of engineering processes and railway operationsBasic knowledge of RAMS disciplineBasic knowledge of electrical / mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, etc.)Fast learner with strong willingness to stay up to date with technological developmentsGood business acumen combined with solid technical skillsGood communication and interpersonal skillsEducation / QualificationsMaster's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics disciplines preferred).LanguagesKnowledge of written and spoken English (at least B2 level).CompensationAnnual gross salary between €33,000 and €38,000.Alla posizione si applica il vigente CCNL per l’industria metalmeccanica privata e l’installazione di impianti, con inquadramento nel livello B1, ai sensi della relativa disciplina di classificazione del personale.At Hitachi Rail, there is a place for everyone.
