ph3About the Role /h3 pWe are looking for a bSenior Backend Engineer /b to design, build, and operate the core backend systems of our web application. You will own critical services, shape the system architecture, and work closely with frontend and cloud engineers to deliver a reliable, scalable product. /p pThis is a bhands-on role /b with significant influence over technical decisions and engineering standards. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 h3Core Engineering /h3 ul liDesign, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC) /li liTranslate product requirements into clean, maintainable backend architecture /li liOwn data modeling and persistence layers (SQL and/or NoSQL) /li liEnsure performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems /li liWrite clear, testable, and well-documented code /li /ul h3System Design Architecture /h3 ul liContribute to system design decisions and architectural trade-offs /li liDefine service boundaries and integration patterns /li liReview designs and code from other engineers /li liBalance speed of delivery with long-term maintainability /li /ul h3Collaboration /h3 ul liWork closely with frontend engineers to define API contracts /li liCollaborate with cloud/platform engineers on deployment, scaling, and observability /li liParticipate in technical planning and estimation /li liMentor junior engineers through code reviews and pairing /li /ul h3Quality Operations /h3 ul liImplement unit, integration, and contract tests /li liParticipate in production readiness and incident analysis (as needed) /li liImprove observability through logs, metrics,



and traces /li liIdentify and reduce technical debt proactively /li /ul h3Required Qualifications /h3 ul li6+ years of professional backend development experience /li liStrong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g. Python, Java, Go, Rust, Node.js) /li liExperience building APIs for production systems /li liSolid understanding of: /li liData structures and algorithms /li liRelational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) /li liDistributed systems fundamentals /li liExperience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) /li liStrong code review and debugging skills /li liAbility to work independently and take ownership /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience with microservices or modular monoliths /li liFamiliarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub) /li liExperience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) /li liExposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) /li liExperience designing systems that scale beyond a single instance /li liPrior mentorship or tech lead responsibilities /li /ul h3What Success Looks Like /h3 ul liBackend services are reliable, well-structured, and easy to evolve /li liAPIs are clear, stable, and well-documented /li liProduction issues are rare and diagnosable /li liOther engineers trust your technical judgment /li liThe system supports new features without major rewrites /li /ul h3Nice-to-Have Traits /h3 ul liProduct-minded engineering approach /li liStrong written communication skills /li liComfort making trade-offs under uncertainty /li liCuriosity about performance, security, and scalability /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
