ph3Summary /h3 pThis position is located at NAS Sigonella, Midtown 2 Movie Theater, Business Activities Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department. This position provides oversight and control of the Theaters. /p h3Duties /h3 pHelp /p ul liIncumbent is responsible for the operation of the theater from one hour before movie time until theater is secured after the last showing. /li liOpens and secures theater facility as well as secures the Midtown building on nights in which the Theater closes last. /li liEnsures theater is setup to receive patrons, including ticket counter and concession stand and projection booth. /li liEnsures that the evening movies are ready to be shown. /li liEnsures the projector and sound system are in good working order prior to the start time of each showing. Sets up, operates and maintains equipment to produce coordinating effects of sound and on screen. Example of equipment includes, but not limited to, motion picture projectors, sound-reproducing units (e.g. speakers, microphones and amps) and audio-visual equipment (e.g. laptop and portable projectors). /li liPerforms frequent checks inside the auditorium to ensure sound level and picture quality are properly set. /li liEnsures NO glass, or strollers are brought into the theater. /li liConducts security checks of oversized bags and backpacks of patrons entering the facility. /li liReports any problems or incidents to the Theater Manager. /li liIn case of an emergency, oversees the evacuation of the theater. /li liEnsures movie schedules and posters are posted in a timely manner /li liControls change fund(s) and verifies all sales from ticket and concession sales at the end of each shift. /li liEnsures NASSIG instructions governing movies are followed. /li liHandles unruly patrons and in cases of continued disturbances contacts the security office for further assistance. /li liPerforms Sales Clerk and cash handling duties, as needed/scheduled. /li liPerforms other related duties as assigned /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 pHelp /p h3Conditions of employment /h3 ul liMinimum age is 18 years old and out of high school. /li liMust pass a pre-employment physical examination.



/li liMust satisfactorily complete a background investigation. /li liWork schedule is subject to change and may include working early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and rotating shifts. /li liWill be required to obtain Emergency First Responder or CPR/First Aid/AED certification, Customer Service Training and MWR Food and Beverage Alcohol Safety Certification, within the first 90 days of employment. /li liPosition involves carrying, pushing or picking up objects weighting up to 50 pounds. /li liMale candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System (Attach proof of registration). /li liCIVILIAN CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS: No-Fee Passport (containing VISA and Statement), Sponsor's Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Orders, including page 2 if necessary, or Command-Sponsorship authorization, and Sojourner's Permit/Application Letter. /li liACTIVE DUTY CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS: Military Orders and Command's written authorization. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 h3Recreation Aid, NF- (Entry level) /h3 pThree (3) months of general experience or High-School Diploma. /p h3Recreation Assistant, NF- (Target level) /h3 pSix (6) months of general experience and six (6) months of specialized experience equivalent to NF-01 level OR two (2) years of education above high school that included at least 12 semester hours in courses related to recreation (e.g. basic psychology, group dynamics, physical education, arts and crafts, etc.). /p pIf qualified at the Entry level, incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the Target level upon meeting qualification requirements and at management's discretion. /p h3General experience /h3 pany type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position.



/p h3Specialized experience /h3 pexperience at the NF-01 level (or equivalent) that is typically in or related to the work of this position. /p pAt the target level, to determine order of referral, qualified candidates will be evaluated in conjunction with the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (K.S.A.): /p ul liBasic computer knowledge. /li liAbility to set up, operate and adjust motion picture projectors, sound-reproducing and audio-visual equipment to achieve proper size, illumination, and focus of the image. /li liCustomer service and leadership skills. /li liAbility to handle money. /li /ul h3Education /h3 pIf you wish to use education as a substitution for experience, or a combination of education and experience, attach a copy of college transcripts, certificates or other acceptable evidence when applying in order to receive credit. /p h3Additional information /h3 pExecutive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
