**European Waterways** is a high-end river tourism company offering cruises on various canals throughout France, primarily the Canal de Bourgogne, Canal du Nivernais, Canal du Midi, and Canal de la Marne au Rhin. Our fleet consists of 12 hotel barges. We offer our guests the opportunity to discover the cultural and gastronomic treasures of various regions. Each barge has a crew of 5 to 6 people, including at least a pilot/captain, a chef, a tour guide/deckhand, and two hosts/hostesses. The crew caters to a group of up to 8 to 12 mainly English-speaking passengers, so it is essential that our team members speak English. We are currently recruiting for the **2025 season until the end of October**:
**Host/Hostess (M/F)** You are also available to provide occasional cover during the season. **Please note: This is a live-aboard position on one of our hotel barges for the entire season. The position is based in France.** Our crew members are provided with **free food and accommodation on board** for the entire duration of their contract. **Main responsibilities of the Host/Hostess role include**: - Welcoming passengers




- Maintaining the interior of the barge: cabins, common areas, indoor plants, bed changes, room resets, etc.
- Meal service and preparation: setting tables, plated service, presenting wines and cheeses, etc.
- Stock management: breakfast items, cleaning supplies, etc.
- This list is not exhaustive, and additional tasks may be requested. **Profile sought**: - Prior experience in the hospitality and/or catering industry
- Interest in the luxury and gastronomic sectors
- Dynamic, autonomous, and well-organized
- Strong attention to detail
