Team Overview and Job Responsibilities Prysmian Purchasing function is looking for an intern to join as a Junior Buyer in the Base Metals team. Main tasks of the role: - Manage the inbound Supply Chain management of aluminium rod and support as back-up for copper rod for all the group plants in Europe, on the basis of negotiated contracts. The task consists in collecting the demand from the plants, checking its consistency with Logistics HQ, proceeding to allocate to contracted suppliers optimizing Prysmian's spending consistently with existing constraints (contractual obligations, supplier capacity, lead time). Operational activity to be carried out according to the indications and under the supervision and responsibility of a senior person in the team.
- Management of the administrative cycle of metal supply: call off to suppliers, order management in SAP, management of variation and extras, update of internal database.
- Expediting of suppliers keeping alignment with plants. Who are we looking for?
- Education: Engineering/economics degree also three-year
- Experience: some basic experience in purchasing/logistics
- Personal characteristics: analytical mindset, characterized by high accuracy, organisation and method, predisposition to continuous specialist work ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data handled. Ability to work under stress. Customer oriented mindset towards the internal customer.
- IT skills: Excellent mastery of common Office programs (especially Excel), knowledge of SAP is a plus, mental flexibility necessary to learn the use of specific software.
- Language skills: excellent spoken and written English that must be used daily to interface with affiliates and suppliers.
- Financial knowledge:



knowledge of derivative contracts and the main instruments used to mitigate price risks on the markets is a preferable qualification to facilitate the understanding of the sector logic. The person after a period of training must support the team dedicated to the supply chain and will work in the team under the direct responsibility of the of the Head of Base Metal Supply Chain.
