United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. Open to the local commuting area of Vicenza, Italy to US Citizens and Non-US Citizens of a NATO Country except Italy eligible for employment under US conditions. **Duties**: - Serves as a CYS Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising CYS direct care staff (minimum of 8 ratios of children in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth.
- Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements. provides program oversight and accountability. Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing to ensure children are supervised at all times.
- Assists with recruitment and selection of caregiving staff utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions. Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required. Ensures timely submission of personnel actions.
- Assists directors and training specialist to plan, coordinate, and implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social,



emotional and cognitive needs of children and youth.
- Acts as Assistant Director or Director in their absence up to 20% of the time. May work in additional CYS facilities for the purposes of providing management oversight for evening or weekend openings. **Requirements**:

- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Childcare Tier 1 background investigation. The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
- Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
- Travel to on and off post locations required.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy to include annual influenza vaccinations. **Qualifications**:

**(QUAL 1)**Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position consistent with: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying).
**For positions in Child Development Facilities**:The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.
**For positions in Youth Facilities**:The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.
**For positions in School-Age facilities**, the education must have been in any of the fields above.
**OR** 1. Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs.
2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs.
3. Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum.
4. Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar.
- Two (2) or more years of hands-on experience planning, preparing, and implementing comprehensive lesson plans for school-age children (grades 1-5). **Education**:
