Due to continued success, they are looking to expand their team with a Senior Power Electronics Engineer – MVDCThe RoleAs Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you'll lead the design and development of MVDC power conversion systems from concept through to qualification.
You'll own converter design end-to-end, topology selection, simulation, hardware design, and validation, while mentoring junior engineers and working closely with systems, controls, and mechanical teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop MVDC converters (e.G.
DC/DC, AC/DC) at medium voltage levels (3kV–35kV class)Topology evaluation and selection, modular multilevel, DAB, ISOP/IPOS series-stacked architectures, resonant topologiesPower stage design: semiconductor selection (SiC MOSFETs, IGBTs, series-connected devices), gate drive design, magnetics specificationSimulation and modelling (PLECS, LTspice,
MATLAB/Simulink)Insulation coordination, creepage/clearance design, and partial discharge considerations at MV levelsLab prototyping, high-voltage testing, and design verificationSupport compliance with relevant standards (IEC *****, IEC *****, IEEE **** as applicable)Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and technical strategyAbout YouDegree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (MSc/PhD advantageous)5+ years in power electronics design, with demonstrable experience at medium voltage (>3kV DC)Strong grasp of MV converter topologies, series device operation, and high-voltage insulation designHands-on lab experience with high-voltage test environments and safety practicesExperience with SiC and/or high-voltage IGBT platformsComfortable owning designs end-to-end in a fast-moving environmentNice to HaveMMC or solid-state transformer experienceMarine, grid, rail, or industrial DC distribution backgroundExperience taking products through certificationOpportunities like this won't be around for long.
