You will work with people with a pioneering spirit and passion for challenges.In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex C++ software that powers Garmin's high-quality products to our customers.What you'll do:Develop complex software in C++Create and execute designs of Garmin products following applicable software development methodology and releases processesGain experience of SW engineering tools (such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers) as part of the Garmin software development processCollaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestionsProvide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem-solving techniquesPerform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problemsEstimate level of effort, evaluate new options for similar technology, and offer suggestions to improve processesPerform unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliabilityWork collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross- functional teams to achieve goalsApply a sense of urgency,
commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashionParticipate in product/application definition activities, including feature analysis and system tradeoffsWhat you'll need:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus a minimum of 1-year relevant experienceStrong C++ programmingObject-orientated programming principles and Design patternsThorough understanding of computing fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreadingMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with othersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issuesAbility to quickly react to feedback, new requirements, and prioritiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsFluency in EnglishBonus points if you have:Relevant experience in software development, image processing and data modellingKnowledge of Android and/or iOS frameworksFamiliarity with Agile (Scrum) project methodologiesKnowledge of C++15/17/20 standardsExperience with Visual Studio IDEExperience in code management (GIT/ Gerrit), configuration management systems and building processes (e.G.,
