Development Professionals, Inc., (DPI) is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as Part Time Instructor of English as a Second Language (ESL) for an engagement providing services in the Army Community Service (ACS) in USAG-Italy Vicenza. The position is a part time job and will involve delivering ESL language instruction courses, for US military personnel, their dependent family, and other authorized members of the community. Courses will be delivered at the Davis Family Readiness Center. Weekly hours will fluctuate between 6-10 hours per week. Fluency in both English and Italian will be required for this position. The Tempo parziale ESL Instructor shall: - Conduct Basic and Intermediate levels of ESL course deliveries to active duty, retired military, DoD civilians, and their family members, and Local National (LN) civilians (on a space available basis) for 5 hours per week: - Basic English classes: Contractor shall be familiar with and utilize the curriculum provided by Army Community Service. Basic level English as a Second Language (ESL) will be held on Fridays from 0900-1200.
- Intermediate English classes: Contractor shall be familiar with and utilize the curriculum provided by Army Community Service. Intermediate English classes will be held on Tuesdays from 1330-1530.
- Classes will be conducted twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) for three months (a total of 24 lessons).
- Class size shall be a minimum of six (6) students and a maximum of fifteen (15) students. If attendance drops below six (6) participants for three (3) consecutive class meetings, classes will be suspended (or rescheduled/cancelled) until the minimum number of students are available. Should suspension or cancellation occur, the contractor shall be paid only for the days of instruction actually delivered.
- Course Structure and Materials: ACS will provide the curriculum and materials which are considered necessary for use to conduct the instruction. The Instructor will utilize the curriculum that is provided by ACS.
- Be responsible for proper documentation of attendee class logs and their monthly submission to the client using government forms.
- Maintain and initial daily customer service sign-in sheet for each month.
- Prepare monthly status reports.
- Carry out other tasks as required by management. **Standards of Performance**
- All translation tasks shall be performed accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring smooth customer interactions.
- Documentation shall be maintained in CTS, with updates provided monthly.
- Compliance with COR directives on reporting procedures and bilingual support coordination.
- **Security Check**: Must be eligible to work in Italy and able to obtain all required background checks according to USAG Italy and Army in Europe regulations for access to US Army installation.
- **Education**: At least a two (2) year college degree (Associate’s or equivalent) in Education, Teaching, or Foreign Languages from an accredited institution. Official college transcripts will be required as proof of qualification.
- **Experience -** Familiarity with ACS ELS Curriculum.
- **Language Proficiency -**Oral and written fluency in Italian and English (Level 4 Fluent). **Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working in a US Military environment / prior work with ACS, military personnel and their dependents.
- Delivery of ESL courses.
- Located in the Vicenza area in Italy (no commuting or relocation costs will be provided).
- Experience handling crisis communications and work under pressure. Pay: €10.00 - €15.00 per hour
