Offer Description
AI4IV is an Italian start-up company developing innovative on-silicon solutions based on a bio- inspired approach integrating AI with vision at the edge.
Despite recent advancements, the synergy between AI and computer vision remains constrained by fundamental imaging bottlenecks. Conventional HDR techniques frequently introduce processing artifacts, creating a direct barrier to robust and reliable AI classification.
AI4IV’s mission is to address these limitations and become a leader in AI for vision by providing technologies that enable on-sensor, real-time recognition and classification of scenes under uncontrolled lighting conditions, in the presence of moving objects, and at the same cost of a
standard camera chip.
The application scenarios range from quality-control, video-surveillance to automotive.
The company collaborates with Fondazione Bruno Kessler in the study and development of advanced low-power architectures for AI vision at the edge.
AI4IV is offering a PhD scholarship jointly with FBK.
The objective is to develop high-efficiency, silicon-native solutions that bridge the gap between neuromorphic sensing and AI processing. The focus lies in architecting a unified system capable of real-time image intelligence, overcoming the critical hardware bottlenecks of limited memory and power to enable the next generation of vision-at-the-edge.
Required/Preferred Candidate Skills and Competencies:
Background in analog/digital electronics, or IC design;
knowledge of image sensor architectures.
knowledge of computer vision; knowledge of deep learning architectures;
Knowledge of C++, Python, Matlab;
Analog/digital circuits IC design capability;
Testing of electronic devices and systems; FPGA firmware design.
