In this role you support the FAO Investment Centre to advance sustainable, inclusive agrifood systems through innovative lending and technical assistance.
You will work with governments, financial institutions, and stakeholders to identify, design, and evaluate investment and finance solutions.
You help build capacity, analyze value chains, and promote collaboration to scale impact.
This position offers a chance to contribute to the TERRA programme and to shape public-private investment in developing countries.
Lead multidisciplinary teams to identify and prepare investment and finance support initiatives in food security, agriculture, rural development, natural resources, and agro-processing Lead implementation support and final evaluation of investment and finance solutions Provide technical expertise for studies and strategies in agriculture and related sectors to inform investment plans Support development of inclusive, sustainable food systems involving producers, private sector, civil society, and governments Deliver capacity development initiatives for government staff and private sector actors in investment support Prepare documents for FAO, governments, and financing partners Support task organization, consultant selection, and quality control of outputs Promote international cooperation and policy dialogue, and engage in international meetings Establish and maintain relationships with strategic programmes, FAO units,
and Decentralized Offices to ensure synergies Participate in resource mobilization activities in line with FAO strategy Guide and advise junior staff Support successful implementation of the TERRA programme and coordination with CDP and DG INTPA Assess agrifood portfolios and lending practices of financial institutions, presenting findings to stakeholders Engage with financial institutions to identify TA needs (trainings, value chains, pipeline development, etc.) Formulate and deliver capacity development for financial institutions and private sector organizations Participate in multidisciplinary teams to enhance lenders' ability to finance agrifood Contribute to studies, strategies, and knowledge products on agrifood investments Prepare Terms of Reference and identify qualified specialists for assignments Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in agriculture, agro-industry, business administration, economics, agricultural economics, agribusiness, finance, political sciences or a closely related field Seven years of relevant experience in agrifood lending, value chain analysis and development, agribusiness and market development, and agricultural investment and finance in developing countries or countries in transition Working knowledge (level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) In this role you support the FAO Investment Centre to advance sustainable, inclusive agrifood systems through innovative lending and technic... #J-*****-Ljbffr
