About the role
Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is looking for a General Accountant to join the Team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will will support the accurate and timely management of key accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cashiering activities, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and Four Seasons corporate policies and procedures.
What you will do
- Support the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activities, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes,
monthly reconciliations, and period-end closings.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial records by reviewing, reconciling, and processing accounting transactions in a timely manner.
- Verify and match invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and approved purchasing procedures.
- Process payments, prepare checks and supporting documentation, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Allocate and record charges from hotel outlets and other operational departments to the appropriate accounts.
- Maintain organized accounting files and documentation in accordance with company standards and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Four Seasons policies, internal controls, and confidentiality standards, promptly escalating any discrepancies or policy breaches to the Assistant Director of Finance.
What you bring
- At least one year of experience in Accounting, preferably within a fast-paced and service-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial information and to identify discrepancies.
- A high level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Fluency in both Italian and English
- A proactive, team-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality work.

Schedule & Hours:
Tempo pieno position, based in Florence. Successful candidates must hold legal authorization to work in Italy at the time of application.
