Senior/Lead Data Scientist - Open Banking
Manager / Team Leader
As a Senior Data Scientist in Klarna’s Open Banking team, you build analytics that transform raw bank data into actionable insights for fraud prevention and underwriting. You craft features from cash flows, develop production-ready models for default risk and fraud scoring, and own the lifecycle from data to deployment. You collaborate with engineering to scale, monitor impact via dashboards, and align with Credit Modeling and Fraud teams. This role combines hands-on modelling with end-to-end delivery in a fast-moving fintech environment.
- Develop end-to-end ML models from raw data to production
- Engineer features from transactional/financial data for affordability and risk modeling
- Model fraud scores and default probability
- Deploy and operationalize models in collaboration with engineering
- Monitor model performance and impact via dashboards
- Collaborate with Credit Modeling and Fraud teams to align goals and infrastructure
- Experience building and deploying ML models end to end
- Strong feature engineering skills with transactional/financial data
- Proficient in Python and SQL
- Experience in AWS environments
- Solid understanding of classification modeling for risk or fraud
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration with Credit Modeling and Fraud teams
- Ownership-driven mindset and ability to build infrastructure from scratch
