As a Java UI Developer, you’ll join our collaborative Java Framework team, contributing to Simcenter STAR-CCM+ by building and evolving the Java-based client infrastructure across API and UI layers, working in close partnership with our Core Framework colleagues. /ppYou care deeply about clean, modular design, long-term maintainability, and user experience, and you’re confident suggesting improvements that elevate both code and collaboration. You’ll contribute thoughtfully to a shared codebase used by a global community of over 300 developers, balancing attention to detail with the confidence to evolve and enhance existing solutions. /ppIf you’re energised by innovation, collaboration, and the opportunity to grow your impact in a supportive, diverse environment, we’d love to hear from you! /ppbYou'll make a difference by: /b /pulliDesigning, documenting and building robust, extensible software. /liliImplementing new features and refactoring existing code in Java client of Simcenter STAR-CCM+. /liliCollaborating closely with colleagues through tools like Jira, Confluence, Git and Bitbucket. /liliJoining forces with our UX and vertical teams to craft efficient user workflows. /liliThriving with a modern IDE in a large, distributed environment. /liliWorking together through peer-based design and code reviews.



/liliBuilding and maintaining automated unit and integration tests. /liliNavigating an extensive code base: hundreds of modules and millions of lines. /liliTraveling occasionally to collaborate in person. /li /ulpbYour success is grounded in: /b /pulliDegree or commensurate experience in computer science, engineering or mathematics with 3+ years of post-academic experience in software design and development. /liliExpertise in crafting client-server, desktop products for Linux and Windows. /liliStrong knowledge of the Java language, including modern features. /liliExperience developing Java clients in Swing/NetBeans (the framework, not the IDE) or a similar framework. /liliApplication development with large-scale datasets and detailed performance and quality requirements. /liliHandling large, legacy code bases. /liliUsing a distributed version control system such as Git. /liliIssue management using Jira or a comparable system. /liliAbility to communicate sophisticated technical issues clearly and concisely. /li /ulpbHighly Desirable: /b /pulliExperience with developing a scientific or engineering software application. /liliExperience working in a distributed team across multiple time zones. /liliProgramming in modern C++. /liliProgramming web applications. /liliExpertise in Physics and Mathematics /li /ulpbJoin our Digital World /b /ppAt Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work- hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy. The applicable salary ranges for these locations are: /pulli49,000 - 81,100 (Italy) /lili32,100 – 64,200 (Greece) /lili52,100 - 83,300 (Spain) /li /ulpThis role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
