Nurses employed by GEO Healthcare work to deliver high quality patient care to men in Victoria's public prisons. Nurses deliver health services which enhance and promote the health of people in prison through evidenced base, comprehensive and professional nursing care within a prison setting. Opportunities exist for casual nursing staff to join Barwon Prison.
Nursing
Staff will be employed under the terms of an Enterprise Agreement.
Registered
Nurse salary range $48 to $66 per hour. (Based on casual RN rates) Competitive Shift and Weekend Allowances.
Registered
Nurse position description. Our Nurses operate across a broad scope of practice and joining our Nursebank will give you a variety of experiences across different correctional settings.
Skills and Experience: Appropriate nursing qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Nurse immunizer Minimum one year clinical experience in either acute or emergency-setting. Sub-acute experience considered.
Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing the role. Ability to contribute to the professional practice within the health facility. Basic level of computer literacy. Clinical experience in a primary health care is desirable.
Valid
Australian driver’s license. Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
