We are currently seeking
HEAD OF OPERATION The ideal candidate coordinates the supply chain, development schedules, and artisanal production. They optimize the balance between rigorous industrial engineering and highly customized, one-off work; they combine a rigorous technical mindset with the flexibility needed to manage the unpredictability of unique projects.
The candidate will be in charge and fully responsible for the entire production of Brand current product line up, oversee the corresponding supply chain, support related product development, and recruit and lead the team of employees designated to the production. The candidate will optimize the balance between industrial engineering and highly customized, project-based manufacturing, combining a strong technical mindset with the flexibility required to manage the unpredictability of unique automotive projects. The candidate will be expected to effectively and efficiently manage the implementation of a new production line at the companies premises in Rho, overseeing all key aspects of the project, including budget management, production and logistics planning, people management (recruitment, development and team coordination), and ensuring the achievement of quality, timeline and cost objectives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial/Management, Automotive Engineering) or equivalent hands-on experience
- At least 10 years’ experience in operational management roles within the "Special Projects" departments of luxury automotive manufacturers or high-performance restomod/prototyping workshops
- Fluent English (eg C1 level)
- Exceptional attention to detail (hypercar-level quality), ability to work under pressure with fixed deadlines (e.g., motor shows or collector deliveries), and strong problem-solving skills
- Solid knowledge of project management methodologies (Gantt, PERT) applied to product development
- Experience managing and updating evolving Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout prototype assembly phases
- Basic knowledge of homologation regulations (e.g., IVA/EVA) and quality control systems
- Ability to lead both engineers and skilled metal craftsmen, effectively communicating with both technical and artisan teams
- Managing niche suppliers

- Strong prioritization and autonomous time management skills
- Resilience in handling last-minute specification changes requested by clients or resulting from operational testing
- High level of accuracy in documentation management, excellent problem-solving abilities, and absolute discretion when dealing with VIP clients
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and business management and/or production support software/ CAD applications (e.g. CATIA, SolidWorks)
- Residence in Milan or the surrounding area, or willingness to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the production plan and schedule for each vehicle or limited production series.
- Monitor and report project progress against deadlines agreed with the CEO. Update and maintain constant dialog with the Sales Department.
- Dynamically allocate specialized labor across multiple projects to avoid bottlenecks in assembly and finishing departments.
- Collaborate with the Procurement office for all required purchases. Coordinate the timing of procurement of critical components and specialty materials (titanium alloys, exclusive leather upholstery, custom electronic components).
- Manage supply chain risks by identifying alternatives in the event of delays.
- Supervise the assembly workshop, ensuring compliance with safety and efficiency standards, including the application of Lean Manufacturing principles adapted to a handcrafted production environment.
- Act as the interface between Design and Production departments
- Coordinate painting, upholstery, and final finishing processes
- Monitor the project's Cost-to-Serve, to comply with assigned budget
- Prepare periodic reports for the Management Board on ongoing projects
- Establish and continuously supervise time/access control of all members of his team and provide data required by HR, finance, legal, logistics and/or the CEO office
- Coordinate the team and ensuring contract renewals, safety procedure trainings, holidays planning, etc
