Blue Oak Consulting
We are seeking a Junior Reporting Analyst to support our team in providing financial oversight for a partner firm in the European infrastructure sector. This fully remote role focuses on identifying capital leaks and verifying the economic assumptions behind large scale project investments.
About Blue Oak
Consulting
Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L; complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction.
The Role
In this role, you will work alongside our principals to maintain the data integrity needed for high stakes advisory work.
The daily environment is one of quiet discipline where you will focus on the details of financial models rather than abstract corporate goals. We operate entirely remotely, so you will need to be comfortable managing your tasks and communicating your progress through digital channels. You will be helping us verify that the money spent on infrastructure projects is actually generating the expected value for the business.
What You Will Be
Doing
Collecting raw financial data from project leads to update our central reporting models.
Testing the logic behind revenue projections for various infrastructure assets across Europe.
Identifying instances where project spending deviates from the original commercial case.
Building clear and simple tables that explain where capital is currently allocated.
Reviewing historical P&L; statements to find recurring costs that may not be necessary.
Assisting with the production of monthly reports that summarize the health of the portfolio.
Conducting basic research on industry benchmarks to see how our partner firm compares.
Ensuring all data used in our advisory reports is cross referenced and accurate.
What You
Bring A university degree in a field like finance, accounting, or economics where you worked with data.
A strong grasp of Excel and the ability to organize large amounts of information clearly.
An investigative mindset that pushes you to ask questions when a number looks out of place.
The ability to work independently without needing constant supervision in a remote setup.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing error free reports.
A preference for direct communication and plain language over corporate jargon.
The ability to learn new software tools and financial frameworks quickly.
A serious interest in the economics of infrastructure and long term capital planning.
What We
Offer A permanent, tempo pieno position with a stable and principal led consulting firm.
Competitive pay that is attractive for a junior professional entering the industry.
A fully remote work policy that offers flexibility in how and where you get your work done.
Exposure to complex financial decisions and high level commercial advisory work.
Regular feedback and training from senior leaders who are experts in capital allocation.
A culture that values analytical honesty and the courage to report findings accurately.
Practical experience working with a major partner in the European infrastructure sector.
At Blue Oak
Consulting, we believe that the best financial advice comes from a place of independence and rigor. We do not chase the latest trends, and we do not produce reports just for the sake of having them. Instead, we focus on the hard numbers that drive real world business outcomes. As you start your career with us, you will learn how to look at a balance sheet with a critical eye and provide the kind of clarity that leads to better commercial decisions.
