CSA Design Manager - Data Centre Proejct

About the opportunity

PeoItaly , an employment agency authorised by the Italian Ministry of Labour, is managing this recruitment process on behalf of a confidential international engineering company delivering a major mission-critical Data Centre project in the Milan area.

The successful candidate will be directly employed by the client under an Italian permanent employment contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CSA Design Manager to take ownership of Civil, Structural and Architectural design delivery while working with international engineering teams, consultants and project stakeholders.

The role will focus exclusively on CSA design management and coordination. Discipline-specific calculations, technical validation and professional sign-off will remain the responsibility of the appointed specialists and locally registered professionals.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate Civil, Structural and Architectural design packages throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage internal design teams, external consultants and specialist contractors.
- Ensure CSA deliverables meet project requirements, agreed programmes, quality standards and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate CSA interfaces with Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health and specialist systems without assuming responsibility for their technical design.
- Lead design reviews, technical workshops, coordination meetings and value-engineering activities.
- Identify and manage design risks, interface issues, changes and potential conflicts.
- Monitor design programmes, milestones,



resources and documentation.
- Act as the primary CSA interface for the client, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Support construction teams by coordinating responses to RFIs, technical submissions and site-related design queries.
- Contribute to commissioning and operational-readiness activities in relation to CSA matters.
- Promote safe, sustainable, buildable and maintainable design solutions.

Candidate profile We are interested in candidates with:

- A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in CSA design management for technically complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural coordination and the interfaces between CSA and MEP disciplines.
- Experience managing internal design teams, external consultants and specialist contractors.
- The ability to manage programmes, deliverables, design risks and change-control processes.
- Experience leading design reviews, technical workshops and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.




- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Availability to work on-site in the Milan area.

Previous experience in Data Centres or mission-critical facilities is strongly preferred. Candidates from complex industrial facilities, pharmaceutical plants, hospitals, laboratories, advanced manufacturing or similarly demanding environments may also be considered. Experience with BIM coordination platforms, Revit, Navisworks or similar design-management tools would be an advantage.
