The Role Could your financial expertise help power the clean energy transition?

The Associate Project Finance is part of the Project Finance team and reports to the Head of Project Finance Europe. The team is responsible for the development and execution of Sonnedix's financing strategy across Europe - debt capital raising, restructuring and refinancing - and the Associate Project Finance will support this work primarily in Italy and Europe, while also contributing to global corporate transactions when needed. In Europe, Sonnedix is a major renewable player in Spain, Italy, France and Portugal, and a growing player in the UK and Poland.

The Associate will join a European Project Finance team of six professionals, itself part of the global Project Finance team, which includes colleagues in the USA, Chile and Japan.

The Associate Project Finance will contribute to every stage of the deal cycle: building, amending and maintaining financial models for new and existing renewable energy plants; preparing presentations and drafting term sheets; leading due diligence, internally and externally; negotiating loan documentation; and clearing conditions precedent for disbursement. Working closely with colleagues across Growth, Engineering & Construction, Operations, Tax, Treasury, Strategy and Finance, the Associate will build strong relationships across Sonnedix to drive the financing process, handing over to the Finance team once loans are executed.

Finance will also analyze industry trends and contribute to the creative and strategic thinking needed for loan structuring, helping the Project Finance team maintain and continuously improve its financial model portfolio.

Desirable skills

- Outstanding financial modelling skills, ideally from a banking, project finance or consulting background
- Knowledge of project finance structuring
- Strong analytical capabilities and strategic thinking, able to see the big picture and the detail
- Collaborative, inclusive team player, organized, with the capacity to handle responsibilities independently
- Curiosity to explore AI and other digital tools to improve day-to-day ways of working
