Associate Project Manager
Pubblicato il 10-08-2026 - Blue Oak Consulting in Roma
We are looking for an Associate Project Manager to help coordinate our work with a European infrastructure firm on pricing and capital allocation models. This entry level position focuses on ensuring that our analytical findings are translated into clear, actionable timelines for our clients.
About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks.
Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L; complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure.
We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction.
The Role As an Associate Project Manager, you will work directly with our senior principals to support a significant engagement for a European infrastructure firm. This is a fully remote role where your primary focus is keeping the mechanics of the project moving while learning how we break down complex financial problems.
You will not just be managing calendars; you will be observing how we pressure test financial assumptions and helping to organize the evidence we gather. Because we are a small team, you will have a front row seat to the entire advisory process, from the first data request to the final execution phase.
What You Will Be Doing
- Building and maintaining project schedules to track our progress on specific financial audits and pricing reviews.
- Gathering and organizing raw data from the infrastructure firm to support our internal economic models.
- Reviewing project documents for consistency and helping to spot gaps in the assumptions provided by the client.
- Drafting progress updates and reports that summarize our findings for both internal review and client meetings.
- Managing the communication flow between our senior team and the client staff to keep information moving.
- Assisting in the creation of financial worksheets that track capital allocation decisions over time.
- Helping to document the friction points we encounter during the implementation phase of a project.
- Maintaining a centralized knowledge base of all project findings to ensure the team can access data quickly.
What You Bring
- A degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field where you developed a strong logical framework.
- A high level of comfort with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize large sets of information clearly.
- A natural tendency to ask why things are done a certain way rather than just accepting the status quo.
- Excellent written communication skills with a focus on being brief and clear rather than using overly formal language.
- The ability to manage multiple small tasks simultaneously without losing track of the larger project goal.
- A disciplined approach to remote work, showing you can stay organized and productive without a traditional office.
- Interest in how large infrastructure projects are funded and managed from a commercial perspective.
- Attention to detail that allows you to spot small errors in reports or data sets before they reach the principal level.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay that reflects the market for entry level advisory roles.
- A permanent, tempo pieno position within a stable and growing firm.
- A fully remote work arrangement that allows you to manage your own workspace.
- Direct mentorship from senior principals who have decades of experience in financial discipline.
- Exposure to complex, high stakes commercial decisions that few entry level professionals get to see.
- A culture that values honesty, skepticism, and results over long hours for the sake of appearances.
- Continuous learning opportunities through involvement in different industries like software and healthcare.
We believe that the best project managers are the ones who understand the work, not just the schedule. At Blue Oak Consulting, you will be encouraged to look under the hood of every project and understand the financial logic behind it. This role is a starting point for someone who wants to learn how to make commercial decisions based on facts rather than corporate narratives. We value people who are willing to be honest about what the numbers show, even when it is not the easiest answer to give.
