ppWe are looking for a talented bThermal and Fluid Systems Engineer /b to join our team specializing in bEngineering /b in bMilano, Lombardia, Italy /b /p pThis position follows a bhybrid work model (60% on-site / 40% remote).
/b /p pbIn this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: /b /p ul liYou will combine high-fidelity b3D CFD/kinetics with 1D system-level modelling to assess Aftertreatment system architectures /b and support design optimization.
/li liYou will perform bChemical Kinetics modelling /b and conjugate heat transfer analysis to improve the performance and durability of bcritical Aftertreatment components.
/b /li liYou will use thermal, fluid sciences and chemical kinetics to evaluate system and component performance, helping guide technical decisions that support advanced, efficient, and environmentally responsible products.
/li liYou will develop and apply 3D CFD/kinetics models and simulation workflows for current and future compression ignition and spark ignition engine technologies.
/li liYou will investigate thermal-fluid product or technology issues, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and document results to support problem resolution.
/li liYou will contribute to platform engineering development programs by helping fulfill open-loop and closed-loop Aftertreatment simulation requirements.
/li liYou will strengthen analysis-led product development by improving modelling, simulation, testing, and data-analysis processes.
/li liYou will collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, project teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to deliver clear recommendations that support high-quality project decisions.
/li /ul pbTo be successful in this role you will need the following: /b /p ul liStrong technical fundamentals in thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer,



Aftertreatment performance, and energy conversion systems.
/li liPractical experience using modelling and simulation tools such as bCONVERGE, Chemkin, GT-Suite, Fluent, Boost, GT-XChem, Exothermia /b suite or similar thermal-fluid analysis platforms.
/li liStrong data analysis and visualization skills using tools such as MATLAB, Python, Tecplot, Ensight, Paraview, or equivalent software.
/li liEffective collaboration, communication, problem-solving, documentation, and decision-making skills to work across teams and support project execution.
/li /ul pbEducation/ Experience: /b /p ul liBachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required.
/li liMaster's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related thermal-fluid discipline is preferred or may be required for select roles.
/li liMinimum of 2 years of academic experience in Aftertreatment modelling is preferred.
/li liExperience with diesel combustion system architecture analysis is strongly preferred.
/li liInternship, co-op, extracurricular technical project, or early-career professional experience in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
/li liKnowledge of Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with technical documentation, requirements engineering, and product development processes will support success in the role.
