JOB SUMMARY:
An individual in this capacity can perform all of the functions listed below.
The primary functions of this position consist of applying finish paint to the surfaces of the manufactured products such as body sides and cabs: repairing surface defects in the bodies or cabs, including the cleaning, grinding, filling and sanding of these surfaces: and applying a protective primer to these surfaces using a spray gun.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs preparation work prior to painting, such as repairing surface defects sanding and cleaning.
- Applies masking tape or other material over parts and areas that are not to be coated
- Mix paints and catalyst prior to applying, pouring coating liquid into pressure pot and connects gun to air hose.
- Regulates the width and pressure of spray according to knowledge of painting technique and compliance spraying the work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
- Cleans spraying equipment with solvent using proper personal protection and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Cleans grease and dirt from product using various products
