/ppThe Field Medical Advisor (FMA) serves as the primary field-based point of contact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Healthcare Providers (HCPs) including clinical investigators on a range of clinical and scientific issues.
The primary role is to deliver and facilitate medical education and communications, research, and scientific insight gathering activities of the client.
This includes the provision of scientific and medical data on both licensed and unlicensed client products and indications as permissible by local laws and regulations.
/ppThe FMA identifies, develops, and maintains long-term collaborative partnerships with external clinical and scientific experts and institutions to provide support for current and future client portfolio activities.
/ppThey will ensure effective communication and collaboration across a multifunctional client team including other Medical Affairs colleagues as well as commercial and Market Access to meet client and healthcare provider needs and ultimately ensure the best patient care in an efficient and compliant manner.
/ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliDevelops and maintains in a self-driven manner outstanding knowledge of relevant disease area topics /liliDevelops and maintains in a self-driven manner outstanding knowledge of client products, competitor products, and other therapeutic options within the therapeutic area /liliCollaborates with the cross functional team to ensure the best patient care /liliMaintains an in-depth understanding of the medical strategy and broader client strategy to ensure their own activities are coordinated with the team and aligned to the clients strategy /liliCollaborates with Cluster (and Country Medical Leads)
for the development and execution of the field medical strategy for the product and disease area /liliMaintains and develops synergistic relationships with KOLs to expand research, advisory, and educational partnership opportunities /liliWorks to the highest ethical compliance, ethics and safety standards adhering to all local regulations and laws /liliEngages with cross-functional team to ensure (their own) activities are coordinated with the team and aligned to client strategy /liliInitiates and leads the implementation of medical projects, e.g. Medical Advisory Board meetings, Medical Education, (patient) care innovation projects /liliProvides scientific congresses coverage and support (national and international) client planned activities /liliServes as external, credible scientific expert on disease area and client products at HCP field meetings, key medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings and patient advocacy group meetings /liliResponds to unsolicited requests for medical information on client products in a credible, balanced/objective manner /liliProactively engages with HCP community to provide medical education as permissible by local laws and regulations /liliProvides effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences and tailors presentations to meet specific audience needs /liliSupports Early Access Programmes (EAPs) /liliIdentifies and maps HCPs and networks/referral patterns /liliIdentify key field insights related to client products,
activities and the disease area and effectively disseminate and collaborate with cross-functional partners /liliSupport clinical operations in trial site identification /liliFacilitate clear communication between the client and investigators in investigator engagement for both client sponsored and investigator-sponsored studies and address barriers to enrolment for pipeline assets /liliIdentify and support local data generation activities /li /ulh3Requirements /h3ulliMSL/FMA experience /liliAdvanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) or professionally qualified (physician, nurse pharmacist).
Exceptional candidates with MSc considered.
/liliexperience within disease area (as part of academia or in industry) /liliKnowledge of clinical research design and GCP in the disease area.
/liliDemonstrates strong understanding of clinical research trial design and study analysis including cost effectiveness and other high-level HEOR evidence approaches /liliDemonstrates strong understanding of local healthcare systems, treatment guidelines /liliDemonstrate ability to develop trust and maintain integrity with KOLs/External Clinical and Scientific Experts, investigators, HCPs, and institutions, as well as with peers, and others.
