Catholic Director of Religious Education - $20.00 Per Hour (working 12 hours per week)– Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily, Italy

The Role
Do you have the knowledge and experience to guide children, young people and adults in their Catholic faith journey? Are you organized, supportive and confident coordinating volunteers while helping deliver a welcoming Religious Education programme?

We are looking for a Catholic Director of Religious Education to support the Active-Duty Roman Catholic Priest in delivering a well-organized and engaging Catholic Religious Education programme at Naval Air Station Sigonella.

As the Catholic Director of Religious Education, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the Catholic Religious Education Programme, helping children and adults grow in their faith through engaging learning opportunities and sacramental preparation.

You'll work closely with the Chapel team,



support dedicated volunteers and help create a positive, welcoming environment for service members and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the Catholic Religious Education Programme from Pre-K through to adult education.
Support sacramental preparation, including First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
Recruit, train and support volunteer catechists and assistants.
Help organise activities, annual events and seasonal programmes.
Maintain programme records, reports and ministry metrics.
Attend scheduled staff meetings and work closely with the Active-Duty Roman Catholic Priest.
Monitor teaching materials, supplies and facilities.
