The platform powers checkout for retailers and travel brands including Mango, Nike, Booking, and Lastminute. Twelve million consumers, €2 billion in 2025 volume, a regulated payment institution licence, and a cap table that includes the investors behind Stripe and Spotify.
As a regulated lender, the company is investing in the risk and compliance engineering that sits behind every credit decision it makes.
The Opportunity
Risk Operations builds the backend that protects the business: the services that assess credit risk, catch fraud, and report to regulators. These systems have to be correct every time, because a wrong decision means either a bad loan or a blocked good customer, and a reporting error means a compliance problem.
A key piece of work is new regulatory reporting to CRIF, Italy's main credit bureau. You would build and own the services that produce this reporting and feed the risk decisions around it.
You would join the Risk Ops engineering team and work directly with the engineering leadership driving this area, in a company of around 200 people.
What You'll Own

- Backend services for risk decisioning, fraud prevention and regulatory reporting, built in Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript on AWS.
- The CRIF credit-bureau reporting pipeline, from data model through to live, accurate submissions.
- Data correctness and auditability. These systems must be right and must be able to prove they were right.
- Integrations with internal risk, payments and data teams, and with external bureaus and partners.
- The technical bar of the team. Reviewing, mentoring where the role is senior, and setting the standard.
How You'll Work
AI-assisted engineering is core here. The team uses AI tools every day to design, build and review. We expect you to already work this way. The company provides a Claude license with unlimited usage, so you have the tooling from day one.

Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, AWS, and AI development tooling (Claude Code).
