Description
With over 40 years of experience in the steel industry worldwide, Danieli Automation is the perfect technology partner for production management, process and equipment control, and for providing advanced tools and state-of-the-art electrical solutions.

We are currently expanding our team within the Power Systems BU.

Work location: Buttrio (UD).
Responsibility
Design of control systems for medium voltage drives, possibly including numerical simulations:
Requirements Analysis and Modeling

Study of system specifications (type of motor, power, required dynamics).

Mathematical modeling of the motor and drive (electrical and mechanical equations).

Preliminary simulation in software environments.
Control Algorithm Development

Speed and torque control (e.g., PID, PI, advanced regulators).

Vector or scalar control.

Management of PWM modulation and harmonic reduction strategies.

Implementation of state observers (e.g., flux, position, sensorless speed estimation).
Performance Optimization

Reduction of energy losses and improvement of efficiency.

Management of dynamic transitions (start-up, braking, reversal).

Minimization of vibrations and electrical noise.
Embedded Implementation

Translation of algorithms into optimized code for microcontrollers/DSPs.

Management of real-time constraints and hardware resources (memory, CPU).

Debugging and optimization on embedded platforms.
Safety and Diagnostics

Implementation of protections (overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating).

Fault detection and recovery functions.

Communication with supervision systems (e.g., EtherCAT).
Technical Skills
Bachelor's/Master's degree in technical disciplines (i.e., electrical, electronics, power electronics, automatic control, etc.).
Good knowledge of electrical components, particularly semiconductor devices for power applications, and electrical machines (asynchronous/synchronous);
Proficiency in programming tools such as Codesys (IEC 61131-3), standard C, firmware languages
