In this role you will own the backend for savings and investments, designing and operating services that scale for millions of users. You will work within the Backend Engineering team on wealth products like the Invested Money Box, savings goals, and portfolios, ensuring reliability and transactional integrity. You will own modern cloud-based infrastructure and contribute to cross-functional initiatives with Product and UX. Your work emphasizes precision in wealth management systems, speed of delivery, and engineering excellence in an AI-enabled environment. - Design, build, test, and operate backend services for savings and investments from design to production
- Develop and maintain core wealth functionalities such as Invested Money Box, automated savings goals, and investment portfolios
- Own AWS-based infrastructure (EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, Kinesis) and contribute to architectural improvements
- Leverage AI tools to write optimized code,
speed up root cause analysis, and generate documentation
- Troubleshoot complex issues across services, investigate production incidents, and share learnings with the team
- Collaborate with Product and UX teams; contribute to code reviews, post-mortems, and refactoring initiatives
- Promote engineering best practices and drive system reliability for wealth engines
- 3+ years of Backend Engineer experience with a track record of building scalable microservices xysqume
- Solid expertise in Java and Spring Boot
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS is a plus) and relational databases
- Strong focus on performance, data integrity, and transactional consistency
- Effective cross-functional communication and ability to explain complex technical ideas
- Passion for FinTech, wealth management, or startup environments; fluent in English
