Sommelier As Sommelier, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness.
Sustainability, Wellness and Out of the Ordinary experiences are at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. I will safeguard these pillars and ensure full knowledge and active participation of all our brand initiatives.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the efficient operation of the beverage operation, particularly the wine service, in our retail and restaurant (or any other F&B; venues) to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards.
- Ensure that all policies, procedures, and best practices are in place and rigorously enforced.
- Support the Restaurant and Bar manager and focus on the rejuvenation of the beverage experience,



constantly assessing wine lists and retail offerings to remain relevant and aligned with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
- Work in partnership with Guest Services, Reservations, and Front Office to ensure guests’ needs are determined and met.
- Maintain full knowledge of menus and specials of all outlets, and possess a thorough knowledge of the wine list and be able to recommend wine in the absence of a sommelier. Be familiar with all facilities and services offered by the hotel.
- Ensure purchasing practices meet the requirements of the Six Senses sustainability platform, while stocktakes and storage assessments are undertaken at the required times to keep all stock on hand, properly stored, and in line with Six Senses standards.
- Maintain clear and effective communication between departments under my control and other departments within the hotel to support the smooth running of the hotel.
