Optical Designers

Our Client is looking for Optical Designers to work in their Research and Development Department, which is actively involved in the field of optical communications for satellite applications, in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). The candidates will support the design, realisation and operation of a new test‑facility aiming at assessing and certifying the interoperability of Optical Communication Terminal Payloads.

Location

Livorno, Italy. Full‑time permanent positions, with an option for contract positions.

Type and Start Date

Permanent/Contract, Immediate start.

Responsibilities

- Design and validate optical systems to assess performances of optical communication payloads
- Conduct test‑campaigns following relevant standards

Qualifications and Experience

- Strong passion for the development of new technologies
- Degree in Engineering or Physics




- Experience in Optical Systems Design and testing (telescopes and imaging systems)
- PhD in relevant fields is appreciated, but not mandatory
- Problem Solving attitude, autonomy and pro‑activity
- Willingness to learn new tools and methodologies

Eligibility

Applicants must hold all appropriate documentation and permits to work in the EU.
