Description/Notes: Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary PE Teacher/Coach to join our team. This full-time position involves fostering a positive and engaging environment where students can develop physical skills, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development and physical education principles, along with the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Plan and conduct engaging and age-appropriate physical activities, games, and sports that encourage participation and enjoyment.
- Assess and monitor student progress in physical skills and fitness levels, providing feedback and support to help students achieve their goals.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate physical education concepts into the broader curriculum and support overall student well-being.
- Organize and lead extracurricular sports activities, events, and competitions,
encouraging student involvement and teamwork.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and upcoming events.
- Stay current with best practices in physical education and child development through professional development opportunities and continuing education.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all students.
- Foster a positive relationship with students, encouraging them to develop confidence and a love for physical activit
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably at the elementary level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $71,648
