ppRINA is currently recruiting for a bMilano Marine Surveyor /b to join its office in Milano, Italy within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division.
/p h3Mission /h3 pThe Senior Surveyor is an experienced professional with strong knowledge of testing activities, verification processes, and applicable Rules and Regulations.
The role focuses primarily on product testing and inspections at manufacturers, acting as a key technical and commercial reference for clients and ensuring effective coordination of all testing activities in the assigned area.
/p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 pbProfessional Specialist /b /p ul liApplies in?depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and relevant testing and inspection processes.
/li liMaintains awareness of developments impacting testing and verification workflows.
/li /ul pbInspection and Reporting /b /p ul liConducts inspections and testing activities mainly at manufacturers to verify compliance with applicable standards.
/li liPrepares accurate and timely technical reports.
/li /ul pbLeadership and Coordination /b /p ul liPlans and coordinates testing activities in the assigned area, ensuring efficient cooperation with colleagues and resources.
/li liMonitors service quality and supports junior personnel when required.
/li /ul pbClient Interaction /b /p ul liServes as primary point of contact for clients, managing both technical and commercial aspects.
/li liEnsures client satisfaction through clear communication and proactive issue resolution.
/li /ul pbTraining and Development /b /p ul liProvides guidance to less experienced surveyors involved in testing activities.
/li /ul pbQuality Assurance /b /p ul liEnsures consistency, completeness, and quality of all assigned activities.
/li /ul pbEthical Conduct /b /p ul liUpholds integrity, transparency, and fairness across all processes.
/li /ul pbTechnical and Commercial Responsibilities for Testing Services /b /p ul liPromotes RINA's testing and product verification services within the region.




/li liConducts technical/commercial meetings to explain procedures, assess requirements, and identify new opportunities.
/li liSupports preparation of technical-commercial proposals (scope, cost, scheduling, compliance).
/li liEnsures proper execution of testing activities, verifying resources, competencies, and adherence to standards.
/li liManages communication with clients throughout the execution of tests.
/li liMonitors market trends to support the development of RINA's service portfolio.
/li liEnsures full compliance with RINA Rules, statutory requirements, procedures, and principles of quality and safety.
/li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMinimum 2 years' experience as Surveyor or 3 years in engineering/inspection with an IACS Classification Society.
/li liUnderstanding of RINA's technical positioning in the marine industry.
/li liProficiency in Italian and English.
/li liAbility to work with RINA Rules, statutory regulations, and safety policies.
/li liAbility to read engineering plans and good knowledge of materials, manufacturing practices, and industrial processes.
/li liExperience in one or more of the following: ul liTesting activities and manufacturers' certification /li liNew building or in?service surveys /li liMarine Management Systems audits /li /ul /li liKnowledge of ship engineering systems is an asset, though the role focuses mainly on inland-waterway activities and manufacturer testing.
/li liProficiency with relevant software tools.
/li liStrong ability to manage external interfaces and project-related coordination.
