About the RoleWe are looking for aSenior Firmware Engineer AIto join our team in fiorano Modenese .
This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with a strong interdisciplinary background in embedded systems, artificial intelligence, hardware integration, and product development.
You will be responsible for translating product requirements into scalable technological solutions, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and user experience.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D;, Product Management, and external partners.
Main ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop firmware for embedded systems with AI capabilities.
Integrate drivers and manage device trees for embedded Linux platforms (Yocto, BSP).
Oversee the lifecycle of electronic boards, including PCB revisions, production, and assembly versions.
Develop and optimize AI pipelines for training and inference on embedded and edge devices.
Collaborate with external partners for application development and technical consulting in edge AI/embedded domains.
Manage documentation, BOMs, feasibility analysis, and technical manuals.
Support customer interactions on technical and commercial topics.
What You Need to Be Successful Must HaveStrong knowledge of ARM architectures (e.g., i.MX8, i.MX95) and NPU technologies (e.g., Hailo or SoC-integrated NPUs).
Proficiency with industrial communication buses (MIPI, USB, Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C).
Experience in reading electrical schematics and managing PCB lifecycle.
Solid background in embedded Linux, BSP, and Yocto.
Degree in a STEM field and 3+ years of experience in embedded electronics.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Should HaveFamiliarity with version control tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure boot mechanisms.
Knowledge of AI development and training frameworks.
Experience with image acquisition and processing frameworks.
Nice to HaveHands?on approach and strong results orientation.
Ability to manage technical?commercial discussions with clients.
Our OfferCompensation for this role includes a base salary starting from EUR 44,400, in line with experience.
The actual offer may exceed this minimum based on the candidate's qualifications and fit for the role.
A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy.
The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
