What you'll do
Oversee and manage all accounting functions related to import and export activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both local and international regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights into the financial performance of import/export operations.
Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely and accurate recording of inventory and cost of goods sold.
Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and receivable related to international transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with international tax regulations affecting import/export activities.
Conduct regular audits of import/export transactions to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and inspections, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Develop and maintain relationships with banks, customs authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth financial operations.
Provide training and support to junior accounting staff on import/export accounting practices and procedures.
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting international trade, and advise management on necessary adjustments.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on import/export operations or international trade.
Strong knowledge of international accounting standards and regulations, including VAT and customs duties.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP or similar platforms is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Italian or other languages is an advantage.
Nice to have
Experience in a manufacturing or construction industry is a plus, given Dywidag's focus on these sectors.
Familiarity with international trade agreements and regulations, including Incoterms.
Previous experience in a multinational company with exposure to diverse accounting practices.
Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
Experience with process automation tools and technologies in accounting.
Skills & tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
Familiarity with financial reporting software and tools for managing import/export documentation.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

Practical notes
This position is based in Cusago, Milano, and may require occasional travel for training or meetings.
The role will involve working closely with various departments, including logistics, sales, and compliance, to ensure a cohesive approach to financial management in import/export operations.
