Overview

CMCC Foundation is a scientific research center focused on climate change and its interactions with the environment, society, business, and policymakers. The Foundation’s work aims to foster sustainable growth, protect the environment, and develop strategies for adaptation and mitigation of climate change. The CMCC Internship Program supports the growth of young talent within the organization, offering a broad and high‑quality training experience that helps develop participants’ potential, including involvement in specific research projects. The program can be activated at multiple offices in Lecce, Bologna, Caserta, Milan, Sassari, Venice, and Viterbo.

Locations and organizational areas may include: Lecce (Administrative Office – Advanced Scientific Computing Division – Communication Office – Ocean Predictions and Applications Division); Bologna (Climate Simulation and Prediction – Ocean Predictions and Applications); Caserta (Regional Models and Geo-Hydrological Impacts); Milan (Fundraising Office – Economic Analysis of Climate Impacts and Policy Information Systems for Climate Science and Decision‑Making); Sassari (Impacts on Agriculture, Forests, and Ecosystem Services – DESA); Venice (Economic Analysis of Climate Impacts and Risk Assessment Policies, Adaptation Strategies); Viterbo (Impacts on Agriculture, Forests, and Ecosystem Services).

Responsibilities and Qualifications

- Have a degree or be graduating in: humanities and/or sciences, data science, economics, law, engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, biotechnology,



biological sciences, sustainable development and climate change, environmental sciences, oceanography, atmospheric and climate sciences, political science, international relations, or similar fields.
- Good command of the English language.
- Good knowledge of IT tools (MS Office) and, optionally, programming languages (Python, Java).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Natural teamwork orientation.
- Willingness to contribute and develop new skills; have a research project to develop.

Type of Internship

- 6-month internship (3+3) for graduates; for curricular internships, duration defined by the study plan.
- Expense reimbursement assessed based on the internship type.
