Our team in Italy is currently comprised of eight partners and around 25 additional lawyers. We cover a wide range of practice areas, including banking and finance; capital markets; corporate, M&A; and securities; antitrust; compliance and regulatory; dispute resolution and litigation; employment and labor; real estate; bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency; private equity; and projects and project finance. We have extensive experience in the industry sectors that are core to Norton Rose Fulbright’s global business: financial institutions; energy; infrastructure; transport; technology and innovation; and life sciences and healthcare. Drawing on our knowledge of the complex Italian regulatory frameworks, our keen understanding of domestic business practices, and our experience of dispute resolution and litigation techniques, we provide clients with high-quality and cost-effective solutions to legal issues.

The Team Our Milan Tax team advises domestic and international clients on a wide range of tax matters, including corporate taxation, international tax planning and tax aspects of M&A; and financial transactions. We work closely with colleagues across Europe and globally, offering integrated and strategic tax advice across jurisdictions and industries, with particular strength in financial services, energy, and real estate. Joining our team means becoming part of a forward-thinking environment with strong international exposure. The Role We are seeking a Tax Associate to join our Milan office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to develop their career in a supportive and international setting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in providing tax advice on domestic and cross-border transactions
- Support in drafting tax memoranda and opinions
- Participate in tax due diligence processes
- Conduct research and analysis on Italian and international tax regulations
- Collaborate with other practice groups on multidisciplinary matters
- Support marketing efforts to grow the tax practice, including client outreach and internal initiatives.
- Draft tax-related content for publication to enhance visibility and attract clients. Skills and Experience Required
- Law degree with a focus on tax law or a postgraduate qualification in tax
- 2-4 years of experience in a law firm or tax advisory firm
- Strong knowledge of Italian tax law; familiarity with international tax principles is a plus
- Excellent legal research and drafting skills
- Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written)
- Strong academic background and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Show strong organizational and time management skills
- Build positive relationships within the team and with clients
