Amount of Travel Required: NonePosition Summary The Shipping Coordinator performs day‑to‑day shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities include preparing and organizing bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and export documents, recording and tracking all shipping transactions, troubleshooting delays, communicating with carriers and customers, receiving, storing, packing, and shipping merchandise, reconciling month‑end inventory, maintaining supplies, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations, and investigating non‑conformance.
Essential Functions
- Communicate with Supervisor/Manager and Team Leader to ensure all shipping and receiving needs are met;
keep team members updated on schedule changes, maintaining accurate records on Outlook calendar.
- Work with SALS group, trucking companies, carriers, and freight forwarders to obtain necessary documentation;
notify Sales and SALS if delivery date cannot be met, cost is too high, or trucks are unavailable.
- Prepare shipping documents in accordance with procedures and customer requirements.
- Verify that material meets all legal and hazmat regulations and weight restrictions.
- Maintain approved carrier list, request rate quotes, and schedule carriers to meet delivery requirements.
- Check inbound material for quality approval, print quality‑related receiving documents, investigate and communicate with Purchasing and Quality Control if material does not meet standards.
- Confirm SDS in the CIMS database for incoming materials and verify compliance with CT‑PAT and other inbound documents.
- Prepare physical inventory count sheets, complete counts, assist in reconciling discrepancies, and notify interested parties of arrivals or discrepancies.
- Record all inventory transactions in Microsoft Dynamics SL, enter raw materials into FCPDB, and record non‑inventory transactions in Req Logic.
- Pull orders using forklift, pallet jack, or cart and complete inspections per procedure.
- Load and unload trucks using forklift or pallet jack, complete inspections, and submit receiving documentation.
- Conduct regular counts of non‑inventory items, place orders for needed supplies.
- Create load plans ensuring even weight distribution in trailers or containers.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: 1 year warehouse/shipping & receiving experience;
equivalent corporate experience considered.
Computer Skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
and inventory management systems (Microsoft Dynamics SL preferred).
Certifications & Licenses: 1 year forklift experience;
DOT training completed or completed within 2 months;
HAZMAT training required.
Physical Demands Regularly stand, walk, sit, handle, reach, and manipulate materials. Frequently lift/carry up to 50 lb and push/pull up to 100 lb. Occasionally lift/carry up to 100 lb with assistance. Ability to wear PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves). No crawling or carrying >
100 lb required.
Work Environment & Conditions Primarily office work with occasional exposure to manufacturing and warehouse environments.
Mental or Visual Demand Continuous attention to detail for tasks with competing deadlines. Frequent interpersonal interactions, decision‑making, and conceptualization. Visual demand for computer use with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
