AVL Italia S.p.A. offers a job in Italy (IT) asStrategic Sourcing Specialist - PowertrainThe Strategic Sourcing Specialist works to develop an innovative and competitive supply base for powertrain, vehicle, and battery development.
The role focuses on ensuring speed, quality, and risk reduction across sourcing activities while supporting new business opportunities.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify and scout new suppliers in automotive and energy-related sectorsPerform technical and economic pre-qualification and supplier assessmentsSupport RFQ processes, including supplier selection and benchmarkingConduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis and cost breakdownsManage supplier-related risks and ensure mitigation strategiesCollaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Project Management teamsDevelop and maintain supplier dossiers and benchmarking analysesRun mini RFIs and organize technical visits to supplier facilitiesMonitor supplier performance through monthly dashboards and KPIsSupport proposal preparation and contribute to new business acquisitionAnalyze technical drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing processesEnsure alignment with APQP, PPAP, and IATF standardsContinuously improve supplier competitiveness and sourcing efficiencyYOUR PROFILE:Degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field3–7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing,



or supplier scoutingExperience in automotive and/or energy sectorsStrong knowledge of powertrain systems (ICE, BEV, PHEV, FCEV); battery systems (cells, modules, BMS, cooling); vehicle engineering and prototyping; mechanical and electronic componentsAbility to read technical drawings and analyze Bills of Materials (BOM)Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality standards (APQP, PPAP, IATF)Strong analytical skills (TCO, cost analysis, competitiveness evaluation)Excellent negotiation and risk assessment capabilitiesExecutive-level communication and synthesis skillsProactive, autonomous, and results-oriented mindsetStrong cross-functional collaboration skillsProficiency in English (good to advanced level)Willingness to travelRAL: 30k - 37kContact RecruiterTalent Acquisition: Mariele Lo BiancoInterested?
