ph3Job Description /h3 pWe are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer – Switchgear to join our team in Milan, Italy!
/p h3Position Summary /h3 pFollowing the acquisition of the successful EI Switchgear Business by Vertiv there is an opportunity to integrate the Switchgear Service offering from EI into the wider Vertiv service business.
In order to meet the demand of customers for the installation and servicing of this offering, we are recruiting experienced Field Service Engineers to provide consistent quality and support to customers across the region.
/p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liAssist Delivery of project site works on LV switchgear panels - Installation, commission, test and handover to client over multiple projects.
/li liAssist in the completion of preventive maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels.
/li liPreparation of all tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.
/li liLiaise with department internal procurement for any additional material requirements/manufacturing needs to close out snag lists.
/li liCompletion of site related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
/li liResponsibility for safe working practices on?site and ensuring all relevant HSE procedures are adhered to.
/li liBe willing to undertake varying levels of security clearance criminal record checking for customer sites that have enhanced security procedures.
/li liAttend customer sites across a defined geographical area.
/li liFully participate in an on?call rota (as defined locally).
/li /ul h3Knowledge, Skills and Abilities /h3 h3Essential /h3 ul liMinimum 3+ years' experience in a site / client facing role.




/li liRecognised qualification in a technical discipline.
/li liExperience with dealing with clients/customers in a professional manner.
/li liFamiliar with all aspects of electrical panel testing fault finding.
/li liUnderstanding of LV Switchgear and Protection devices.
/li liGood understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety.
/li liFamiliar with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation.
/li liExperience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests.
/li liExcellent communicator.
/li liFully flexible to work additional hours on request.
/li liThis is a site?based role and majority of work time will be based on?site or travelling.
/li liFull driving license.
/li /ul h3Desirable /h3 ul liElectrical Engineering Background.
/li liCompetency in primary secondary injection testing.
/li liCompetency in flash testing.
/li liKnowledge of PC Software.
/li liWorking knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems.
/li liExperience in Troubleshooting.
/li liElectrical Trade background would be advantageous.
/li liExperience in working within an electrical service environment.
/li /ul h3Working Conditions /h3 ul liA significant amount of after hours and weekend work, frequently scheduled with little notice.
/li liTravel on a daily basis to and from customer sites.
/li liWill be required to stay away from home or travel long distances.
/li liOccasional heavy lifting required.
/li liYou will be expected to operate as part of a team.
/li liParticipate on the 24/7 on call rota.
/li liMay be required to travel abroad from time to time.
/li liYou will be supplied with a Company uniform, which must be warn at all times while working.
