Job Title: Train Operation Support Engineer Purpose of the Job:
- Provide real-time technical support to train drivers and operations teams in case of faults during service
- Coordinate with Alstom control room to monitor train systems remotely and respond promptly to operational anomalies
- Coordinate with traffic control and fleet management to manage train availability and service recovery
- Provide clear and accurate instructions or guidance based on established protocols and procedures
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to railway equipment providing timely solutions and support to the off-site technical interventions
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of off-site maintenance activities, including findings and recommendations
- Analyze incidents and support post-event investigations to determine technical causes
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors to support repairs and maintenance work
- Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to continuous imp rovement initiatives
- Conduct field inspections special checks and assessments of rolling stock
- Review fleet failures, downtime reports and equipment histories to uncover reoccurring operation problems. As appropriate he will utilize continuous improvement tools to identify root cause and work to implement a solution helping the Reliability Growth team.
Responsabilities :
- Participates in critical task-force dedicated to troubleshooting when needed
- Defines standard rules to analyse train diagnostic data
- Defines standard sheet for troubleshooting during operational outage
- Design diagnostic algorithms in collaboration with engineering team
- Supports data analysts

Educational Requirements:
- Technical Diploma or Degree in Engineering (preferably, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering) or proven experience in railway maintenance and operation
Technical Knowledge / Experience
- Experience in Train Monitoring System development or validation or commissioning
- Experience at system level in Railway industries or big industrial plant (Power, naval…)
- Good knowledge of business analytics tool such as Tableau, powerBI…
Behavioural Skills / Competencies
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure
- Experience in customer service or technical support, preferably in a transportation or railway environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations in railway operations
- Data driven (makes objective decisions based on data/ facts and speaks with data)
Job Location / Mobility Requirements
- The job will be based in Milano Fiorenza Depot organized on a 7-day weekly shift basis and is responsible for providing on-call support through a rotating shift pattern.
