In this Medical Advisor role, you will shape medical strategy for the Gastroenterology portfolio and align it with AbbVie’s Brand Plan. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive medical activities, and represent the Italian Affiliate in global Medical Development settings. You will design and update medical plans, ensure compliant processes, and support both local and international clinical studies. The role offers meaningful impact through advanced therapeutic knowledge and strategic medical leadership.

- Ensure medical know-how across assigned products and diseases
- Drive medical activities aligned with the Brand Strategy
- Represent the Italian Affiliate in corporate medical development settings
- Prepare and update annual medical plans per product
- Contribute to AMDI systems, SOPs and Guidelines for best practice and compliance
- Manage budget for the therapeutic area and local clinical studies
- Design local AMDI clinical studies and review IIS contracts
- Foster participation in international trials and liaise with sites
- Maintain relationships with key thought leaders and external experts
- Provide medical support to pharmacovigilance and regulatory/approval processes
- Support medical education and training for sales force
- Review promotional materials and product information xysqume for medical accuracy
- Support annual scientific training plans and materials
- Medical degree or equivalent (Italian Laurea Magistrale in life sciences/chemistry)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in clinical or pharma/biotech medical roles
- Ability to translate strategies into actionable plans
- Proven cross-functional leadership and coordination in a matrix setup
- Strong understanding of health sector dynamics and regulatory/compliance awareness
