About the roles
GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria.
Nurses employed by GEO Healthcare work to deliver high quality patient care to men in Victoria's public prisons. Nurses deliver health services which enhance and promote the health of people in prison through evidenced base, comprehensive and professional nursing care within a prison setting.
Opportunities exist for casual nursing staff to join Barwon Prison.
Nursing Staff will be employed under the terms of an Enterprise Agreement. Terms and conditions provided by this Agreement include:
- Registered Nurse salary range $48 to $66 per hour. (Based on casual RN rates)
- Competitive Shift and Weekend Allowances.

Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- Appropriate nursing qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Nurse immunizer
- Minimum one year clinical experience in either acute or emergency-setting. Sub-acute experience considered.
- Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing the role.
- Ability to plan and coordinate patient care.
- Competence in clinical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to contribute to the professional practice within the health facility.
- Competence in written and verbal communication skills. Basic level of computer literacy.
