We are seeking four highly motivated early-career researchers with a strong quantitative background to join the European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) at the CMCC Foundation in Milan, Italy. The successful candidates will contribute to the development of next-generation climate impact modelling frameworks supporting climate adaptation, energy transitions, and resilience planning across vulnerable regions worldwide. Their research will focus on understanding how climate change propagates through interconnected human and natural systems, affecting energy systems, water resources, ecosystems, food production, infrastructure, and socio-economic development.A particular emphasis will be placed on modelling climate impacts across interconnected human and natural systems, including water resources, energy systems, food systems, biodiversity, and ecosystem services, integrating Earth system information with impact models,
socio-economic analysis, artificial intelligence, and decision-support tools to support climate adaptation, resilience, and sustainable development.Working at the interface of climate science, environmental modelling, artificial intelligence, and socio-economic analysis, the successful candidates will help develop scalable, integrated modelling approaches that translate climate hazards into actionable information for decision-makers.
