The role focuses on operational environments (projects, service, and manufacturing), ensuring effective implementation of HSE standards, programs, and risk management practices. It provides guidance, coaching, and constructive challenge to operational teams, acting as part of the Second Line of Defence. The Global BU Operations HSE Manager also contributes to the development and continuous improvement of HSE programs and represents the Business Unit within the HSE Operating System,
ensuring alignment between global frameworks and operational execution. How you'll make an impact
- Support the implementation of the HSE strategy within BU operations.
- Act as a visible HSE leader through regular site visits and direct engagement with operational teams.
- Promote a strong safety culture by fostering accountability, ownership, and risk awareness at all levels of the organization.
- Assess HSE performance across projects, service operations, and manufacturing sites through field visits and operational reviews.
- Support and challenge operational teams in identifying risks, implementing effective controls, and ensuring safe execution of work.
- Monitor compliance with Hitachi Energy HSE standards, 3 lines of defence, Life-Saving Rules, and operational risk management requirements.
