Automation Engineer

Kaigos

ppKaigos is building the autonomy layer for industrial robots, starting with welding, where a robot has to perceive a seam, plan a path, and adapt its parameters in real time against molten metal that doesn't forgive mistakes. Hard perception and control problems with immediate physical feedback. Fast growing, small team, real deployments in production at customer sites, and an autonomy stack that generalises well past welding. /ppWe're funded by our customers, not investors, and we intend to keep it that way. We build what someone has committed to buying, prove it in production, then scale. /ppWe're looking for an Automation Engineer to keep bringing our welding robots into real production at customer sites, and to own that process end to end as we grow. You'd sit between the customer and the robot: understand the production problem, define the solution, and commission the system until it passes acceptance and welds parts that ship. This is a role for someone who wants to run a deployment, not just contribute to one, and who's aiming to lead an automation function as the team grows. /ppThis role is customer-facing and hands‑on. It demands the ability to ship, not just prototype. /ph3Tasks /h3ullibUnderstand the customer's process and define the solution. /b Work directly with the customer to map their production, identify what should be automated, and define the technical solution: how the robot and cell fit their parts, cycle times, and constraints. /lilibDesign the system. /b Cell layout, hardware, integration and safety. Choose the right sensors,

controllers and tooling for the job, and make the architecture decisions that hold up on a real shop floor. /lilibCommission robots on site. /b Program, integrate and tune the system at the customer, write Kaigos proprietary code that runs it, and take it through field acceptance testing until it meets the customer's requirements. /lilibOwn the deployment. /b Be the technical point of contact through the project, keep the customer updated, and grow toward running deployments, and eventually the automation team independently. /li /ulh3Requirements /h3ullibYou’ve deployed automation projects involving robots /b in production, not just demos. You've been through field acceptance testing that met a real customer's requirements. If you've done it, you know why we're asking. /liliYou're comfortable with industrial automation, safety, and commissioning on real hardware. /liliYou can write and read Python and C++, and you're at home on Linux. /liliMaster's degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Software Engineering. /li /ulpNice-to-have (a plus, not blocking): robotics experience, or a solid software-engineering background. /ppThink you don't meet every requirement? We get it, sometimes a lack of self-confidence keeps us from applying. Here's a little secret: there's no such thing as the "perfect" candidate. Kaigos is a place where everyone can grow. So whoever you are and whatever your background, apply if this is a role that would make you want to come to work on Monday morning. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
